Joanne has owned and trained dogs for over 25 years. She lives in Huntington, Long Island, New York with her family, which at one time included three Golden Retrievers.

Joanne trained with Nancy Allegretti, one of Long Island’s most respected dog trainers. She is also a volunteer and consultant to LI Dog, an educational and advocacy group working to secure more dog parks for Long Islanders and their canine friends. LI Dog also educates dog owners about the importance of being responsible pet owners, ensuring that their dogs are good canine citizens.

Joanne is also veterinarian recommended and experienced with all breeds, sizes and ages of dogs.

Joanne’s training method focuses on using the most positive reinforcement-oriented techniques appropriate for the situation and the dog, and is sensitive to the fact that there is not one set method that works well for all dogs and all owners. 

Her training philosophy is summed up in the simple phrase, “Put yourself in your dogs paws.”
